Every year, eligible voters are turned away because of a document they did not know they needed. This course is the foundation of our volunteer program: twelve lessons, four modules, and a certificate at the end. You will finish it knowing how to identify what a voter needs, how to help them get it, and — just as importantly — where your role stops.
What you will learn
- Explain what a voter ID requirement is and how it varies by state
- Run an intake conversation that gathers what you need without overstepping
- Identify the underlying documents a voter needs to obtain an ID
- Recognise when a voter is entitled to a provisional ballot
- Document a case so that the next volunteer can pick it up cleanly
